New Research facility to enable climate resilience research for viticulture & horticulture
MRC’s newest research facility aims to help the viticulture industry to respond to climate change, increase productivity, improve quality and enhance operations.
It will be operated by The New Zealand Institute for Plant and Food Research Limited.
A teaching annex will be used for industry workshops and for students at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) studying viticulture and horticultural production.

It was a time to celebrate achievements, share plans, and bid a heartfelt farewell to Gerald Hope, Chief Executive of the Marlborough Research Centre (MRC) for 30 odd years of service to MRC and the primary sector.

MRC is delighted to announce its new Chief Executive! John Patterson will lead the organisation forward from 1 July, taking over from Gerald. John has worked closely with Gerald Hope for the past eight years, bringing a wealth of experience in research programme development and project management to the role.
